The Disability Policy Consortium presents The Texas Housing Summit: Building the foundation for accessible, affordable and integrated housing for ALL Texans

After months of preparation, the two-day Texas Housing Summit seemed to fly by. More than 150 participants from around the nation gathered in downtown Austin to explore solutions to the housing crisis facing thousands of Texans with disabilities. People with a lot of different perspectives joined the discussion, including consumers, advocates, service providers, lenders, developers, state and federal government leaders and policymakers. It was great to observe so many people working together toward the common goal of making affordable, accessible and integrated housing available for all Texans.

Thanks to each of you for taking time from your busy schedules to be part of this historic gathering. Thanks, to the planning committee members, who contributed precious time and energy to create a dynamic event. Last, but certainly not least, we are grateful for the sponsors who committed funds and services to help us make this a meaningful experience for all participants. Our dream of accessible, affordable and integrated housing for all Texans is within reach, especially if we make good use of this time together and the opportunity it presents.
